Stan O'Connor's World Trade Center Walking Tour

I do many history tours. This one alone is from the history of our time, with stories of extremism, sacrifice and honor.

‘TEN HOUSE’ AND THE FIREMEN’S MEMORIAL This firehouse was destroyed as the South Tower fell on it. Rebuilt, it houses the Firemen’s Memorial to the 343 firefighters we lost in The Attacks of September 11.

SAINT PAUL’S CHAPEL Learn the secret: why only this building was undamaged in the blast radius of September 11. As it alone stood firm, rescuers were invited to rest here when off-duty from ‘the pile’ of WTC debris. This 1767 structure predates the American Revolution. It contains memorials of early American and Canadian history, as well as of The Attacks of 9/11.

AMERICAN EXPRESS MEMORIAL to their employees lost in the collapse of the Twin Towers.

VANTAGE POINTS from which you can see and photograph the entire site, and memorial waterfalls.

WORLD TRADE CENTER CONSTRUCTION SITE See the site from as close as we can get. Hear personal stories of The Attacks’ destruction of this neighborhood on September 11, 2001. Learn how buildings are being constructed to replace the Twin Towers, and how the neighborhood has coped with devastation and reconstruction.

TRINITY ROOT. One tree in the churchyard of Saint Paul’s Chapel was blown down by the force of the blast. Stand at the metal cast of this tree’s roots, At Trinity Church of Wall Street.

WORLD FINANCIAL CENTER’S WINTER GARDEN Get the best view of the entire construction site and surrounding buildings. It’s easier, here, to visualize the area of total destruction surrounding the blast zone. You’ll be inspired by the new buildings at the World Trade Center.

We were gazing at the buildings around us near the memorial and we are SO thankful we "ran" into Stan!! We had wanted to see the memorial, but the next tour was Nov. 8 ... so we decided to take a chance on Stan for his "one hour tour for $40." It was MORE than worth it!! He was a walking historian/encyclopedia about New York and the events of 9/11. Very humble, great sense of humor, kind, and knowledgeable. He knew just which street to cross to get to the right building, and the right floor and the right window to have the best view of whatever he was talking about. It was an amazing hour, which went longer and we learned so much. I very highly recommend him!!!

$50 for up to four people.
$10 each additional person.
Seniors: $8
Under 12: $8
Iraq, Afghanistan vets: FREE
