The Love Tour
This walking tour is designed for lovers. It features several romantic spots, included one that’s secluded enough for a private conversation. Your photo will be taken against some of the prettiest backdrops Manhattan can offer. The tour runs from Midtown into Central Park, and lasts about two hours.
Start at Grand Central. Couples have been meeting at Grand Central’s clock on the main floor, for nearly a hundred years. You’ll see it on a short tour of Grand Central. Then across the avenue to the site of another venerable clock where couples once met: The Biltmore Hotel clock. Another building is on the site of the Biltmore, but they saved this illustrious clock.
We’ll go through Midtown, stopping at a good chocolate shop -- not the kind that sells T-shirts and coin banks -- and visit a nationally-famous cupcake bakery. Further on, you’ll pose with the giant LOVE sculpture (shown) for a photo or two.
Now the tour enters Central Park. We may see couples in their wedding clothes posing for official photographs; it’s a common sight in the park. We’ll walk under shady elms, as seen in the film Along Came Polly. Stop for photos by the fountain, then up and over the cast-iron bridge into the Ramble, where couples walk winding paths.
Finally we will climb up into a hillside garden of flowers that were popular in Elizabethan England, and climb further up to the highlight of the tour, Belvedere Castle.
Total distance is about two miles.$60 per person.
$100 per couple.
