Stan O'Connor's Grand Central And The United Nations Tour
A 20-minute walking tour of the world’s busiest train station, and one of the most elegant in North America. Stop in the whisper gallery, the main waiting area, and inside a train tunnel, to look at Park Avenue from underneath!
Then hop back on the pedicab, and cruise up 42nd Street to the United Nations, where we will parallel its eight blocks of buildings, gardens and sculpture. Then a slow uphill journey through the old Turtle Bay neighborhood. Its stately townhouses once were the homes of an actor colony, including Ruth Gordon, Garson Kanin and Katharine Hepburn.
Return to midtown via Park Avenue to see noteworthy architecture, including the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel.
Duration: About one hour
