THANK YOU. THANK YOU! The students loved your tour of lower Manhattan, old Newspaper Row, St. Paul’s, Trinity Church, Hamilton’s grave, and Ground Zero.
In post-course evaluations, students consistently listed your tour as one of their favorite New York experiences. Coming from 13 students, ages from 21 to 28, that’s saying something. Your historical information, interesting stories, humor, movie trivia and enthusiasm for the topic engaged and impressed us all.
We’re awfully glad you decided to revisit the Statue Of Liberty and Ellis Island. While those sites weren’t part of our personalized tour, it was informational and interesting to chat further on the ferry rides. I’d say you are one NYC’s best kept secrets. What a find we have in you! I may only be able to conduct this class every other year, but you’ll be on the top of my list of contacts. You’re not only knowledgeable, you’re personable.

Sincerely,

Hello there!
Hope this finds you well and your tours of New york are going well?
I am sitting here in university , the rain is falling like it will never end and we haven’t seen sunshine since last year -- o tis grand to be home!

You probably don’t remember giving me your email address on the bus tour about three weeks ago - I’m the cork man! Yep! That’s me!

Just a very quick email to say hey and hope you’re well -- ‘cause face it, the irish actually care!

The tour was seriously good. We actually only got on the bus so we could get out at the statue ‘cause we had done the tour the previous daybut, the day before, the tourguide was crap basically and you managed to convince us to stay on the bus and never visit the statue! How cool huh!
Well I must go I’m afraid. Email me sometime!
Take care and keep doing those wonderful tours!

Gray Line Sightseeing Tours
Dear Gray Line Manager;
Just before St. Patrick’s Day, my 11-year-old son and I enjoyed a trip to New York City and certainly a highlight was the excellent tours provided by one of your tour guides, Stan “Abe Lincoln” O’Connor.
We happened to have the good fortune to have a Downtown Tour as well as a full Evening Skyliner Tour with Mr. O’Connor as the guide.

He provided extensive information about the history and background of the city (much more than other guides did on some of the buses that we hopped on and off of). He was very enthusiastic, obviously enjoys New York and his wonderful humor was very entertaining. He very kindly provided lots of information in response to my son’s questions at the guided walking stops on the Skyliner Tour. He seemed to sincerely enjoy giving this excellent service to the thousands of visitors to New York that he must see each year.

We hope you will acknowledge Mr. O’Connor’s outstanding service, to him. Thank you for providing your tour service - and with this quality of tour guide.

Sincerely,
M. Jane Kingser

Hey there,
Just wanted to take a moment out of my day to write and tell you that a wonderful time we had while on the tour of NYC.
After getting off of your bus and boarding others, you are indeed a gem among the guides. The others couldn’t give a shit about the passengers and didn’t enjoy what they were doing. While you at least seemed to enjoy what you were doing, and your knowledge and presentation were great. While this may not mean much to you, I felt the need to write.
Keep up the great work, for you were one of the high spots during our visit to NYC.
Sincerely,
Mark Davis

My son and I had the pleasure of taking the New York tour tith you on March 8. You had the Abe Lincoln hat on. My son liked it. He still talks about it.

Highlights were:
Start of tour -- Empire State Building southbound
The cops and the issue of the Rolex Store at the WTC
The Mayoral Mansion
The quiz on the states and country representatives; awarding points for right answers
Mary Todd Lincoln and where she stayed.
Abe Lincoln and “Might Makes Right”
Seinfeld and where Elaine worked
Battery Park with the remains of the plates and the glassware in the ground to this day
The port where everyone came in originally and got ripped off
The hospital with the still-unidentified remains of the dead from 9/11
The transient community on the Lower East Side, by country type -- Irish to now, whatever it is -- Lebanese or Afghani -- who knows?
The brick outhouse on the Lower East Side
The UN -- we got off the bus there.

Thanks!
